I’ve been making music and performing for the majority of my life. It has always been about the same thing for me, the feeling I get when I hit those strings or sing that note and feel the power of sound. Music is the language of the soul. It knows no boundaries. It heals, and it brings people together. Without the musical experiences and connections I've had in my life, it would be very different from what it is today. After pouring everything I’ve learned into songwriting, stories, into melody and harmony, the only thing left is to share the sounds in my head and my heart with all of you.

Formed in 2024, the James Whatton Band delivers a fresh take on outlaw country, blending Southern rock swagger with gritty, heartfelt storytelling. Frontman James Whatton, originally from Louisville, KY, brings his Southern roots and deep appreciation for classic country to the band’s sound. Drawing inspiration from legends like Merle Haggard, The Allman Brothers, and Waylon Jennings, alongside modern trailblazers such as Sturgill Simpson and 49 Winchester, the band crafts a sound that honors tradition while forging its own path.

Together, they bring raw energy and genuine passion to every live show, steadily making their mark in the Americana, outlaw country, and Southern rock scenes.
