ABOUT JAMES WHATTON BAND

Formed in Minneapolis in 2024, James Whatton Band blends the storytelling and grit of classic country with the guitar-driven energy of Southern rock and modern Americana.

Led by Louisville, Kentucky native James Whatton, the band draws from artists ranging from Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard and The Allman Brothers to Sturgill Simpson and 49 Winchester—building a sound rooted in tradition without trying to live in the past.

With heartfelt songs, loud guitars and a live show built to connect with the room, James Whatton Band is carving out its own place in the Americana, alt-country and Southern rock landscape.
